Emmanuel's Foundation is a community resource for parents who need immediate
help in relation to a rare or difficult medical diagnosis for their unborn or newborn child. Our
program provides friendly companionship and also research and educational services related to help the family be their child's
best advocate.
Emmanuel's Foundation is an intermediary agency to help families tap into
support resources in their immediate area that help families to meet their emotional, spiritual and basic medical needs
in a timely manner. Links to services are presented to families through a 1:1
in-person Parent Support Volunteer assigned to assist each family through navigation of new systems. Families may receive personal visits in their home or in the hospital and have assistance scheduling or
making initial contact to other organizations. Emmanuel’s Foundation supports volunteers committed to
helping families by finding any and all ways to best help the family meet immediate needs through the resources
of the Foundation.
Cornerstone Community is the community of people who are linked together through Emmanuels’ Foundation. In additional to 1:1 support services and coordination,
Emmanuel’s Foundation will also provide an online forum for parents to meet others in the Cornerstone Community. We will also have a published newsletter called The Cornerstone that will allow community
members to publish insights of their journeys to our Affiliates and Benefactors to aid in raising community awareness.
In short, Emmanuel’s Foundation provides
parental support, advocacy coaching / mentoring and friendship to parents who are in a pregnancy or have a child with a rare
or difficult medical diagnosis. Our mission
is to build stronger communities striving together to support families through critical issues, companion parents in their
emotional journey and encourage parents to be their child's best advocate.
How
we work?
Our volunteers facilitate an intake and needs
analysis from the patient’s family upon their request. Volunteers create
awareness in the social circles of the new Cornerstone Community member. Coordinators
at Emmanuel’s Foundation Headquarters provide "links" to information, documentation and back office facilities to support
the family in receiving the information in a timely manner. These "links" are not
hyperlinks as the technically minded may envision, they are a link between the client family and an affiliate agency or organization
where information is interchanged. This may involve coordination for a family to receive appropiate information
directly from the referred organization. The "link" occurs when the Cornerstone family and the Cornerstone affiliate
"link-up". The volunteer making at-home or bedside visits will be the liaison
to the members community.
Our
motto is, "You are not alone!"
Additionally,
new community members have the option of having Headquarters to automatically link them to national support services that
meet their interest. In addition to our support, research and education services,
we are looking to make alliances with RN's, Mid-wives and Doctors (and even lawyers).
Volunteers periodically follow-up with community
members to ensure that no need falls between the cracks and that advocacy is initiated before a more serious issue or long
term impact becomes realized. Perhaps it’s more, perhaps it’s less. It depends on each family’s immediate needs and resources available to them
in their immediate area.

At Emmanuel's Foundation, we recognize how life has qualified most all of us through our personal
experiences (good and bad alike) so that we know what worked for us (and what didnt) so that we may be able to understand
more deeply with those who experience similar situations ...
Join a Cornerstone Community through Emmanuel's Foundation: offering support and community
resources to parents in a pregnancy or with a child having a rare or difficult medical diagnosis. Helping families tap
into support resources in their immediate area to meet their emotional, spiritual and medical needs in a timely manner.
To build stronger communities striving together to support families through critical issues, companion parents in their emotional
journey and encourage parents to be their child's best advocate.
has two ways to communicate electronically!!!
1- We have newly formatted the CC of EF Bulletin Board
and are now accepting new logins.
2- Additionally, Our Yahoo Message Board
is a support group that allows visual interaction for those that want to post pictures / albums, links and more in reference
to your particular story.
Dont hesitate to use either of our two forums to communicate your thoughts or concerns about your situation.
As we kick off our inaugural
year, we need community support to bring these services to the homes of the families that need help. Will you consider sponsoring a family or offering your support to your community?
Together, our support should
help to alleviate the isolation of anyone affected by a negative diagnosis, syndrome or disorder and to raise public awareness
within local communities.
